So here’s the deal…

Jinglebarrys is fun. It’s really just a little side project that brothers sam and dan billen from primary color music are doing - but believe it or not, there’s some real heart and magic behind it (this is sam typing, by the way).

Back in the 70s-80s down in oklahoma city, our dad, Bill billen, wrote jingles with his best friend KenNY Johnson. I grew up thinking the jingles were real songs and I still get emotional when I hear them. Here’s one of my favorites:

Believe it or not, Blake Shelton actually said this was his favorite jingle growing up in OKC as well…

our dad left the jingle writing business around the time I was born (early 80s) and he became a product developer (he designs kids meal toys). As he is currently nearing retirement, I started looping him into some of our commercial projects with our music-for-advertising company, primary Color music.

I was amazed to find that time didn’t diminish our dad’s jingle-writing skills, but rather it was like a time-capsule had been locked up - and we just had to reopen it. So jinglebarrys is my fun way to let our dad continue living his dream: being one of the best classic jingle writers of all time

Now onto the good stuff…. while coming up with this jingle barrys idea, we also did some digging around old cassette tapes to see if we could find some of our dad’s old jingles. Lucky us - we found a lot.

And just in case you want to hear even moooooore about the tall paul jingle, here’s a local news clip about it from the oklahoman a few years back…
